TYRANT TERRITORY DOSSIER: BERCNA DAAZ

LOCATION: orbiting Basilisk’s planet, in geosynchronous orbit ~250 miles above a midsize port hub (UPDATE: Its orbit is stochastic as of three days ago)
POPULATION: ~21,300 (+/- ~750) (Fewer than 1000 permanent residents)
SIZE: ~1.13 km long

ANALYSIS: (Note: Much of this came from one anonymous source. They seemed honest and candid, but much of this is uncorroborated or of dubious strategic value. Nonetheless, we cannot afford to discard any intel.)

Bercna Daaz station has existed for approximately sixty years as a typical hub of trade and piracy. Throughout their rule, Basilisk has sculpted it into a military installation, earning no goodwill. (Granted, this is mostly just in the form of conscripting pirates, but it’s still deeply unpopular.)

Commerce in Bercna Daaz is mostly bartering in-kind, whether official rations or spoils of piracy or handcrafts or sexual favors. All attempts to impose a standard currency have failed, and Basilisk has stopped trying.

Bercna Daaz’s pirates, in their semi-isolated setting, have no particular loyalty to Basilisk. They are a useful asset, but handle them with care.
